Project Dirt 1st Birthday at Vauxhall Bridge City Farm

Vauxhall City Farm started out in 1977 with local people working voluntarily to transform derelict land into an oasis of country life in the heart of London. The farm continues to rely on volunteers and the support of friends.

Entrance is free to the farm, however donations are welcome! The farm attracts people from all around to visit animals that live so near to Big Ben and are at home in the hustle and bustle of inner London.
On the Farm The Farm is a sensory experience with smells to accompany the bleating, mooing, neighing and oinking. It is open to everyone from Wednesday through to Sunday from 10.30am until 4.00pm except Christmas (please call to check times). We welcome groups, just call us first to arrange your visit.

A walk through the farm takes you pass the goats and cows, with help of signs and our committed volunteers, we try to make everyone's experience of the animals as positive and interactive as possible. If you carry on through the farm you reach the duck pond and the community garden.

The community dye garden has a variety of vegetables and plants used to produce natural dyes by the spinning group. You can watch the animals grazing in the paddocks or a riding lesson in the school.

Down by the horse paddocks live the chickens and rabbits, with a lovely ecology green space in which to eat your picnic.

Vauxhall City Farm hosts a variety of activities including Ruby Rhymes' - a music and movement session for parents and under 5's, art classes, spinning, dying and weaving lessons for adults and families. Our classroom can be hired for meetings and children's parties call us for more details.

Project Dirt is an active community, linking environmental projects. We're currently trialling in South London, but open to all!
