The Cumbrian coast hosts Solfest, a small family oriented festival of approx 5000, The festival sites live entertainment with inspiring arts genrated by the Solfest arts council. The tents are brimming with friendly faces, a truely balanced and relaxed family scene. Watch out for the baby with the ear muffs :) Enjoy. Solfest 2009 Cumbria - Dedicated to my Children. Harrison and Felicity - Music by Degiheugi - "The good feeling"

Cumbria is beautiful, the hills and space are breath taking - But what about the economy? I'm interested in how areas and communities suffering from economic decline survive.

Festivals bring a yearly surge of economy to these landscapes, transformed into a weekend celebration of music, dance food and family what are the benefits of holding a well organised festival. Who prospers the land owner? surrounding communities? local councils? national transport? Stall Holders?
