Clapham Farmers Market

Farmers markets exist entirely for growers and producers of food and plant products. Farmers markets are exciting places to discover and experience new varieties and fusions of foods and beverages.

The “Local market" provides a level and fair field for enterprising producers to showcase quality produce not found in Supermarkets and supporting local industry and trade strengthens the economy of communities

I believe that supporting local producers such as Mair’s’ Bakery based in Carmarthen South Wales watch projectdirt.com/profiles/blogs/part-1-a-journeymans-tale develop realistic community founded business policies enabling fair and competitive business practises such as limiting the Bakeries delivery to a 20 Mile radius.
"Supermarkets are simply profit merchants."
I’m a supporter of UK agriculture and value the philosophy in Japan where farmers are ranked in high regard and protected by the Samurai as they produced food with skill, whilst, merchants were seen as the lowest class of citizens as they lived off others' labour -
Farmers Markets connect producers with buyers directly.

There’s a real pleasure in meeting the chef, baker or relish maker and engaging with their customers, developing and improving products and responding face-to-face rather than hiding behind shopping counters and fancy packaging is a more real and enjoyable shopping experience.
